We had a good number of enthusiastic members join Kevin and Bruce at our first Astrophotography class at the Observatory. The purpose of this class was to teach interested members how to use the Mount and Observatory cameras to take pictures of targets in the night sky. Unfortunately even though weather started good and was predicted to be good well into the evening the truth turned out to be quite different. After we managed to get through training on setting up the cameras, and use of the Mount for astrophotography and how to point it at targets of choice the thunderstorms rolled in quickly. We had to shut the roof to stay dry but we did manage to take the picture above of most of the members who attended the class. Unfortunately the flood lights in the Observatory proved a little bright for even this picture but thanks to member Jim Erickson we did capture a picture.
