Annual Pot Luck Supper

October 26, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Nimrod Club of Holden
168 Coal Kiln Rd
MA 01541
We will be holding our annual Pot Luck Supper for Aldrich Members at the Nimrod Club in Holden! Aldrich member Russ Chaplis, also a member of the Nimrod League, has helped to reserve the club on Saturday October 26th for our Pot Luck Supper in a rural setting on the Princeton Holden line.

Location:  168 Coal Kiln Rd, Princeton, MA 01541

For new members who have not attended one of our pot luck suppers before, we request that you cook or bake up your best special main dish, salad or desert and bring it to the supper to share it with others at this annual feast. (Aldrich members who have minimal culinary skills or very little time can bring a purchased dessert or food item. We want everyone to participate and have fun!)  If you need to warm up your dish, you can bring a warming plate or a slow cooker to plug into our wall outlets at the main hall.

Click here for list of promised food items to-date.

We also have a tradition of tossing $5 for each family attending into a bucket at the entry to the hall so we can use this to help defray the costs of holding this event.  Members can bring family members with them too – just let us know – this is a great way for people to meet and talk with other Aldrich members in a very nice atmosphere.  The Nimrod Club offers a very rustic interior with a large open hall and has plenty of space for parking around the building.

Set up time will be 4:30 PM – we can always use help from a few members who can arrive early to help set up the tables, chairs and festive tablecloths and candles ahead of time. Our main event starts with socializing at 6:00 PM and then the dinner at 6:30 PM.  Steve Nathan will give a PowerPoint presentation on Climate Change.

We will begin the evening’s presentation at 7:30 PM with some opening remarks by Jim Zebrowski which includes updates about Aldrich events including future member educational courses, speaker dates and updates for the Oakham observatory site.

Please send a message to Jim Zebrowski at jimz@aldrich.club to let us know you will be attending with how many will be in your party and what you plan to bring to the supper. If you can help set up early, please let us know that too!  Hope to see everyone there!
