On Monday August 21st 2017 a total eclipse of the Sun occurred within a 65 mile wide stretch of land starting in Oregon then crossing the whole contiguous United States and exiting over the Atlantic in South Carolina. The last time a total solar eclipse crossed the whole width of the contiguous United States occurred June 8th 1918. This composite photograph was created of the partial and total phases of the eclipse in a stunning arrangement.
