This picture represents a beautiful Waning Gibbous Moon which is approximately 60% illuminated. There are a number of beautiful craters shown in this picture, the brightest of which are listed below.
- Copernicus – This crater is the largest crater with visible rays on the lower center of the picture. This crater is approximately 57 miles in diameter and a little over 2 miles deep.
- Tycho – This crater is the largest crater with visible rays on the right of the picture. This crater is approximately 53 miles in diameter and is almost 3 miles deep.
- Plato – This crater is the dark circular crater on the left of the picture on the edge of the dark plain. This crater is approximately 67 miles in diameter and is a little over a 1/2 mile deep.
